Caltech Floorball Club

Floorball http://floorball.caltech.edu/ is a lightweight, non-contact version of indoor hockey played in tennis shoes-no skates. Pickup games are in Brown gym on Monday nights from 10pm to midnight during the Winter and Spring terms. We're always happy to get new players-no experience is necessary. There's a lot of running, so dress comfortably. Questions? Email Andrew at bandy@its.caltech.edu.
Anaheim Floorball Tournament: Saturday March 17 at the Anaheim Hockey Club from 7am to 4pm. Join the Caltech team and take on other floorball clubs! Email bandy@its.caltech.edu for more information.

Windsurfing Lessons
Learn to dance with the wind in one fun day!

Caltech Surf and Windsurf Club will be offering beginner windsurfing lessons at Alamitos Bay in Long Beach on two Saturdays: March 10 and April 14, 2007, 10am - 4pm.
Windsurfing equipment and wetsuits will be provided by the club and carpooling will be arranged among participants. Alamitos Bay is 35 miles south of Pasadena, in a protected ocean area with flat water like on a small lake, ideal for beginners. With the club's new beginner boards and sails, learning to windsurf is easier than ever and a lot of fun! No previous experience necessary, you just need to know how to swim.
The lessons are open to the whole Caltech/JPL community and cost $10/person.
Intermediate windsurfers are welcome to join, to either help with the instructions or just to have fun windsurfing on their own.
To register for March 10 lessons please e-mail Jane Rigby (jrigby@ociw.edu). For April 14 lessons please e-mail Branislav Kecman (kecman@srl.caltech.edu). Say whether you need a ride or can provide a car, especially if the car has a good roof-rack to help carry windsurfing boards. Directions and further logistics will be e-mailed to those who register. In the meantime you can borrow club's beginner instructional windsurfing videotape to familiarize yourself with the sport. The club offers affordable windsurfing equipment rentals to its members and you can join the club and practice windsurfing on your own in the future. See http://www.its.caltech.edu/~surfer/ for details on how to become a member.
